Ibba Diocese, The Sudan
Dear Louie,
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am sure by now you have received our original message to the warring
parties in the Sudan. I am trusting you as one of the members of the
committee of Peace and Justice, you will do your best to see to it that
Peace and Justice is brought to the suffering people of the Sudan. The
life in the war affected areas have some backward and suffering is great
now no Justice in the things that are happening to people.
I would be very grateful to know from you what you can do to help us
towards our desperate needs like starting a basic school for kids who
have been cut off from education. Particularly in my Diocese of Ibba
which is a new establishment, I have returned to it after being away for
12 years because of the on going war.
I have received your e-mail sent to all Bishops of the Anglican communion
asking them to share with you in any format that is convenient, a
description of specific ways your part of Anglican Communion has acted,
or expects to act on the two-part commitment bishops made to homosexuals
and lesbians people to assure them that they are loved by God. This was
reached at Lambeth three years ago.
I have not understood you well on this issue yet. Are you saying that
there are Bishops in the communion who have come up openly saying that
this people are not loved by God?
The resolution was a principal stand of the whole Church of God in light
of the teaching of the Bible. This depends on how people conceived the
message and live it. There is another part of the whole thing which is
by interaction learning from each other, sharing with others how they
arrived at the conclusions that they have reached. There are many who
also take the homosexuals as brothers in the Lord despite their life
style. They are open to learning from others in communion with them in
the Church of God who are to judge God's people. It is only the Lord who
will judge them. Ours is the truth of the Lord the church must stand
uncharged by human behaviour.
My condolence to you the members of Peace and Justice Committee for the
death of many Americans who died innocently in the hands of terrorists
who hijacked the American planes and directed them towards those
buildings. We deeply feel sorry for that.
May God rule and direct America to take right majors to end such acts.
God bless.
Yours in the Lord service,
Rt. Rev. Levi Hassan
